Aqua Therapy
We realize that you have already made steep sacrifices to pay veterinary bills, so if cost is a worry, please discuss it with us; we may be able to work out a suitable payment plan for you -- don't let financial difficulties delay your dog's therapy. We can work it out.
In a pool heated to a constant 90 degrees F°, each session begins with a gentle massage to relax your dog and prepare them for exercise. Swimming is the ideal activity for joint injuries, problems from aging and post-operative exercise (with veterinary advice). The warm water relaxes tight tissue and stimulates circulation; the weightless environment allows your dog to use a full range of motion, building strength and flexibility without discomfort. It also increases cardiovascular performance to help maintain peak condition and performance. Normal exercise is beneficial to strengthening bones and muscles in a healthy dog, but for a dog that is injured, unfit or obese, normal exercise may do more harm than good.
Always consult your veterinarian if you have any concerns about your dog's condition.

K-9 Aqua Connection hydrotherapy sessions last from 30 to 60 minutes. We recommend one session every other day for two weeks, for a total of six sessions, after which your dog's progress determines the schedule for further sessions. Hydrotherapy helps by supporting your dog's own natural ability to recover; therefore, sessions are paced to suit each dog's needs and comfort. Owners should plan to be with their dog during the session. It is encouraging for the dog, and relaxes them when their loved ones are near.
More and more veterinarians have discovered how effective hydrotherapy can be, and are recommending it as a form of rehabilitation and preventative care. The results can be dramatic -- because circulation is increased to the joints, dogs are more comfortable and should be able to enjoy an increased range of motion and quality of life in a rather short period of time.
